Privacy questions about subscription tracking
Direct answers on bank linking, local-first storage, and what privacy-first tracking means.
Do I need to connect my bank to track subscriptions?
No. For SaaS renewals you already know, manual entry plus CSV or statement import is enough. Bank linking helps discover forgotten charges, but it shares financial account access with a third party.
What is a privacy-first subscription tracker?
It is a tool that lists renewals and owners without requiring bank login. Local-first defaults and optional sync keep control with you instead of forcing cloud aggregation.
Where does Recurr store my data?
Free stays on your device. Paid plans can stay local too, or enable optional cloud sync for backup and multi-device access over encrypted connections.
Is bank linking unsafe?
It is a higher trust tradeoff, not automatically “unsafe.” Many people simply do not want a subscription tracker to see their full account activity when a simpler list would do.
Can paid Recurr stay local-only?
Yes. Pro can remain local-only or turn on optional cloud sync. Sync is a choice, not a requirement for unlimited subscriptions.
Does Recurr sell or analyze my subscription list?
No. There are no ads and no analytics that read your subscription list for marketing. Privacy is part of the product design.
